Academic Decathlon
This club participates in an annual competition that engages members of the Chicopee High School team against members of other high schools. The competition is based around specific topics designated by the Academic Decathlon Committee.
Debate
The debate club is one that meets weekly and holds membership in the Western Massacusetts Debate league. It is open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors, who are interested in current events and wish to develop speech and critical thinking skills.
Model United Nations
Imagine being a member of a delegation for a foreign nation. Imagine working together with delegations from other nations to solve some of the world's most complexing problems. Imagine yourself doing this all in one day. Imagine yourself at Model UN.
Model Congress
The Model Congress competes with other area high schools in discussion and debate over local, state and national legislative forums.
National History Day
Students involved in National History Day are generally members of a U.S. History class.
This club competes in National History Day by creating top-notch projects, reports, plays, or media presentations using the topic that the National History Day planners have chosen for the year.
The club first competes locally presenting their projects at Springfield Technical Community College, then statewide, and then nationally.
The project must include a complete bibliography with primary and secondary sources and requires many long, but worthwhile, hours of research.
As Schools Match Wits
The Schools Match Wits team is a small group of individuals that will compete in the trivia game show of the same name on television. Members will be required to engage in a game of academic trivia orchestrated by team advisor Mr. Bizon.
