CHS Hoop Band
A new basketball pep band is being started here at Chicopee High School. The CHS Hoop Band will perform at all home boys varsity basketball games and will rehearse 6:30 P.M. - 8:30 P.M. on Wednesday evenings during basketball season. If you play an instrument and would like to play in the Hoop Band, see Mr. Hoover in the Band Room. The first rehearsal is Wednesday, November 18th at 6:30 P.M. - 8:30P.M.

BASS PLAYER WANTED
The CHS Hoop Band is looking for a bass player and a few other musicians to perform at home varsity basketball games. If you play an instrument and would like to play in the Hoop Band, see Mr. Hoover in the Band Room. The next rehearsal is Wednesday November 18th, 6:30 - 8:30

BAND
       The band is both a classroom activity and an after school activity.
Membership in the Concert or Marching band requires approval of the director.
The band regularly practices during football games and attends all of the home football games.


The band practices for marching/concert are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday's 2:30 - 4:00pm.
The jazz band practices Tuesday and Thursday 3:15 - 4:30 pm.


The band plays several community events and private parties each year.
The band is also planning a big band trip in the spring of next year.


The goals of the band are to enhance the musical culture of the Chicopee Community.


If you have an interest in joining band/chorus, talk to Ms. Salli, Mr. Hoover or your guidance counselor.

CHORUS
       The chorus is primarily a classroom activity.
Students learn how to develop their voices and are taught how to harmonize when performing in a group.
The students perform with the band in two concerts a year and attendance is mandatory.

 

COLORGUARD
       The CHS Colorguard is an after school activity.
Students that participate in the colorguard march in front of the band, and have practices after school along with the band.
